SonicWALL Continuous Data Protection (CDP)

This system is a widely used, new-age data backup and disaster recovery solution, made by Dell. Designed to provide Continuous Data Protection, it supports Linux,® Windows®, Mac OS® through a single Web GUI, and offers globally enforced controls for the entire backup process. The system offers flexibility for IT administrators to backup only what they want, allows compliance with recovery requirements. Dell SonicWALL, Continuous Data Protection v6, offers comprehensive data protection for data backup and recovery and comes with the following features:


Continuous data backup.

CDP v6 protects your critical data whether it be on servers, laptops, pc or remote systems. The system is automated to backup with every detected change and requires no manual intervention.

Fileset backup

The CDP v6 fileset backup process efficiently captures, organizes and preserves each backup in chronological order and discards any duplications. This eliminates the burden on secondary and makes the process more efficient.

Multiple platform support

The CDP v6 agent software is compatible with mixed-platform environments, including Windows, Mac OS and Linux.

Microsoft application support

CDP v6 supports Microsoft® business and client applications, such as SQL®, SharePoint®, Exchange, Small Business Server,® Active Directory® and more.


Features


Site-to-site data backup

This system automatically uses AES 256-bit encryption to transmit and store data remotely on other CDP appliances. Even if the local CDP appliance is removed, the latest version of data can be recovered by replacing the CDP appliance’s Web interface.

Offsite data backup

CDP v6 is designed to automatically backup data to the Dell Sonic WALL Data Backup Center for easy recovery when needed.

Local archiving

Critical data can be archived and used to later restore individual files by browsing through the archives. Local archiving is possible on upstream and downstream CDP appliances.

Universal system recovery

CDP Universal System Recovery software allows for recovery of complete systems to dissimilar hardware or virtual environments. It does so by creating an exact image of an entire server or workstation.
